The MAX7219 Chip is a serial input/output common-cathode display drivers used to control a large array of LEDs. It has features like 10MHz serial interface. Individual LED segment control, digital and analog brightness control. It has low power shutdown of 150µA. It can microprocessors to 7-segment numeric LED displays of up to 8 digits, bar-graph displays, or 64 individual LEDs
